چکیده
Background: Testicular torsion is one of the urological emergencies that require immediate scrotum exploration. Characteristics testicular patients, variated time exploration, and findings degree at exploration can affect outcome testicles. The study aimed to determine characteristics diagnosed patients identify predictors salvage.Method: method used in was cohort retrospective with inclusion exclusion criteria. Receiver operator analysis performed probability orchidectomy based on degrees twist. Multivariate logistic regression tests are factors cause testicles be retained. P<0.05 significant. Results: There 45 mostly aged between 12 16 years (64.40%). Left more frequent than right (82.20%). etiology idiopathic (77.80%). Orchidopexy procedure (26.70%); follow-up, patient found have atrophy. explore cut-off value 8.5 hours 450 twisting will testis not survive specificity 83% 92% sensitivity 81% 82%, respectively. shows associated affected (p<0.05).Conclusion: Patients relatively young. Not all manifest typical symptoms acute, atypical such as lower abdominal pain, which identified torsion. Mostly left testicle. Orchidectomy most commonly operation patients. predicted by observing factor patient.

Clinical predictors of testicular torsion in children.
OBJECTIVE To distinguish the prognostic factors that decrease the probability of a negative exploration for "acute scrotum." In some institutes, patients with "acute scrotum" undergo immediate exploration after clinical evaluation. Because testicular torsion (TT) accounts only for a fraction of these cases, most infants can be treated conservatively. METHODS We performed a retrospective study...
متن کاملFactors Influencing Rate of Testicular Salvage in Acute Testicular Torsion at a Tertiary Pediatric Center
INTRODUCTION Studies have demonstrated that variables other than duration of symptoms can affect outcomes in children with acute testicular torsion. We examined demographic and logistical factors, including inter-hospital transfer, which may affect outcomes at a tertiary pediatric referral center. METHODS We reviewed charts of all pediatric patients with acute testicular torsion during a five...

Each year, testicular torsion affects one in 4,000 males younger than 25 years. Early diagnosis and definitive management are the keys to avoid testicular loss. All prepubertal and young adult males with acute scrotal pain should be considered to have testicular torsion until proven otherwise. The finding of an ipsilateral absent cremasteric reflex is the most accurate sign of testicular torsio...
